Course Description

The Steadfast Love of the Lord / Psalms: Course Four

The book of Psalms has served as the hymnbook and prayerbook of God’s people from ancient times and on into the present. Known as the Psalter, this collection of Holy Spirit–inspired poetry captures the highs and lows of life. The psalms are powerful prayers, guiding us into honest communication with God.  They validate our doubts, passions, fears, and longings and show us how to draw near to God in our struggles. This Bible study organizes the psalms thematically, making it easier to grasp their main ideas and apply them to your own conversations with God.

This is the fourth course of a five-course series exploring the book of Psalms.

Meet the Teachers

A mechanical engineer by training, Ron has been involved in CBS since 1998. Studying the Word with CBS has done more to make him advance in his walk to be more like Jesus than anything else in his life. He has been called to a number of different roles within CBS, but Central Idea Teaching is his passion.

Ron and his wife, Ginny, live in Owasso, OK, after spending most of their lives back East. Their three kids and their families (six grandchildren) have also moved to the Midwest, and they enjoy frequent family gatherings. Ron enjoys sailing, sailboat racing, and learning to drive his sports car as fast as he can on nearby racetracks.Show less
After Holly graduated from Baylor University, she and her husband, Sandy, moved to Germany for a few years. The move sparked her passion for history and travel. After they returned, the family settled in Holly’s childhood hometown in central Arkansas. She worked part-time across three decades in journalism, management, research and development, and various education and healthcare nonprofit organizations, while dedicating herself to raising her son and two daughters and caring for her mother through a long-time battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Holly has been actively involved in Community Bible Study since 2001.

Holly now spends time ardently supporting Arkansas Razorback sports teams, relishing outdoor adventures with loved ones, and cherishing moments with her wonderful adult children. Holly’s greatest joys are being truly known by Jesus and telling others about His marvelous mercy. She says, “He’s my ‘one defense, my righteousness. Oh, how I need Him every hour!’”Show less
