Course Description

Defining a Faithful Life / Psalms: Course Two

The book of Psalms has served as the hymnbook and prayerbook of God’s people from ancient times and on into the present. Known as the Psalter, this collection of Holy Spirit–inspired poetry captures the highs and lows of life. The psalms are powerful prayers, guiding us into honest communication with God.  They validate our doubts, passions, fears, and longings and show us how to draw near to God in our struggles. This Bible study organizes the psalms thematically, making it easier to grasp their main ideas and apply them to your own conversations with God.

This is the second course of a five-course series exploring the book of Psalms.

Meet the Teachers

Ann Emge was raised in Western Pennsylvania (Go Steelers!) and attended Grove City College. She's employed by an airline (let's travel!). She's been involved with CBS for 25 years. Four generations of her family have been impacted by God's word through this ministry (thanks, CBS!). Ann and her husband, Barry, have three married children and one granddaughter (want to see pics?). She clings to the truth that "My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth." (YAY God!)Show less
Natalie has been married to her husband, Kerry, for 25 years and is a homeschool mom of three, one of which is now in college. She serves on her local church school board and enjoys spending time serving alongside her family in various ministries, especially to widows and the elderly. Natalie is an avid reader and likes baking, singing with her daughter, playing UNO with her son, counseling her college student, and running with her husband.

Natalie has served in Community Bible Study in various roles, most recently as a Teaching Director and Area Director in Alabama. CBS has been an integral part of the Word of God changing her life as she learned to study it. She is grateful to be a daughter of King Jesus, and John 8:36 is one of her favorite verses: “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed!”Show less
