Course Description

The Lord Reigns / Psalms: Course Five

The book of Psalms has served as the hymnbook and prayerbook of God’s people from ancient times and on into the present. Known as the Psalter, this collection of Holy Spirit–inspired poetry captures the highs and lows of life. The psalms are powerful prayers, guiding us into honest communication with God.  They validate our doubts, passions, fears, and longings and show us how to draw near to God in our struggles. This Bible study organizes the psalms thematically, making it easier to grasp their main ideas and apply them to your own conversations with God.

This is the fifth course of a five-course series exploring the book of Psalms.

Meet the Teachers

With a master's degree in education, Nina worked for a few years as a teacher and then as an educational consultant for a K–12 charter school for over a decade. She changed gears to manage her family's physical therapy practice with her husband, the sole practitioner. She has been involved in several ministries, including CBS, where various leadership roles have affirmed her call to teach. It is her desire to share the Word of God in such a way that others would know how wide, long, high, and deep the Lord’s love is.

Nina lives in Landenberg, PA, with her husband, Chris, and sassy cat, Pickles. They have three sons who live and work or go to school in other states, a situation that affords Nina and Chris many opportunities for family connection as well as fuels their love of travel. Nina also loves to read and connect with friends, and she has recently jumped on the pickleball bandwagon.Show less
Marcy is a lover of God’s Word and is passionate about Bible study. After marrying her high school sweetheart, Brent, she traveled with him as they lived in multiple cities for Brent’s professional career in the National Basketball Association. After 11 years in the NBA, Brent and Marcy retired to Enid, Oklahoma, with their four children. Marcy has passed down her love for the Lord and passion for Bible study to them and her three grandchildren. She serves as a Teaching Director in Community Bible Study and is also currently serving as a trainer on the Teaching Director Training Team. Her prayer is that people would fall in love with God’s Word and would seek Him in everything. Her hobbies include hiking, biking, gardening, and hosting and cooking for family and friends.Show less
A mechanical engineer by training, Ron has been involved in CBS since 1998. Studying the Word with CBS has done more to make him advance in his walk to be more like Jesus than anything else in his life. He has been called to a number of different roles within CBS, but Central Idea Teaching is his passion.

Ron and his wife, Ginny, live in Owasso, OK, after spending most of their lives back East. Their three kids and their families (six grandchildren) have also moved to the Midwest, and they enjoy frequent family gatherings. Ron enjoys sailing, sailboat racing, and learning to drive his sports car as fast as he can on nearby racetracks.Show less
